Hey, I remember when we talked about ourselves a while back but I'm wondering what new films people are enjoying, or at least films you have seen recently?
For me two are subtitled, Platoon 180 (something similair to that) tells the story of fresh Russian Army recruits and their deployment into Afghanistsan. Some parts are nice and make you feel warm inside (the naked pictures of the colonels daughter will make coroner warm in his trousers lol) but there are the awsome combat parts too, and an off the wall officer who beats his men up. It's Russia's answer to full metal jacket, so it's in Russian (ok for me Smile ). Which brings me on to the next film:
Full metal jacket, awsome, some classic lines in this concerning the retarded Pvt Pyle.
And finally, The Pianist, in a war ravaged Hungary during Nazi occupation a Jewish Pianist struggles to survive and hide. Whilst speaking Hungarian and German. It's subtitled, true, but I defy anyone not to be a bit upset after what the Nazis do to the old man in a wheel chair.

been watching a lot of asian films of late as we all know and a few i have seen recently i thought have been good

silk

A team of scientists, led by the crippled Hashimoto (Yosuke Eguchi), have discovered a boy ghost (Chen Kuan-po) in a rundown Taipei apartment block and, using an anti-gravitational device called the Menger Sponge -- a kind of Rubik's Cube with a mind of its own -- have trapped it in a room-cum-lab.
To help solve the mystery of who the kid is, Hashimoto recruits local police sharpshooter Ye Chi-tung (Chang Chen), who has exceptional eyesight and also happens to lip-read when Ye sees a single strand of silk connected from the ghost to a mysterious power.
Tracking the strand of silk, Ye learns the horrifying truth of the child's death. Fearing that the ghost child is dangerous, the team decides to isolate the ghost but in doing so they unknowingly unleashed the mysterious source on the other end of the silk strand, a much more powerful and ferocious energy.

Arahan

When a thief driving a motorcycle steals a purse of a pedestrian, the clumsy, naive and honest rookie policeman Sang-hwan runs after him, but the skilled specialist in martial arts Wi-jin captures the criminal and Sang-hwan is severely injured.
She brings Sang-hwan to her home, where the six Masters of Tao heal him and believe that he has a powerful Qi, the spiritual energy of the universe, and could be a powerful warrior. Sang-hwan begins his training to ascend to a Maruchi, while the evil and ambitious Heuk-woon is accidentally released from his imprisonment.
The powerful Heuk-woon attacks the masters, searching a key that they protect, which would permit him to become an Arahan and dominate the world. When the masters are defeated, Sang-hwan and Wi-jin are the only and last hope to mankind.

i'll post if i see any more
