new game with 256 players online at once called MAG trailer included

i was told to check out this game called MAG - Massive Action Game and if you don't know anything about it i thought i would share some info and the trailer

not much info yet but from the little there is and the trailer this looks like it is going to kick some serious arse and will be one for all clans

Andy Beaudoin from Zipper Interactive (known for the SOCOM series) revealed The game will break up to 256 human players into eight-man squads fighting each other simultaneously in a total free-for-all.

Characters will be able to advance their statistics as they play There will also be character advancements and character customization and Character growth will be accomplished through an advancement tree, which allows players to fine tune their players throughout massive campaigns
the eight man squads will see players being pushed down certain paths of character development, making their goals more concrete

There will also be "ongoing campaigns"

"MAG will deliver an intense and long lasting shooter experience," said Beaudoin, who also described the game as "a workout even for the PS3 architecture."

i am looking forward to this and if they get the servers right so there is hardly any or no lag then this should be a good laugh

256 players? COD struggles in ground war... Maybe if they provide dedicated servers like warhawk then I might be convinced.

Resistance does 40 better than CoD does 12, apparently R2 is fine with 60 too. I'll wait before I decide on MAG, not too bothered about this game otherwise though, just another shooting game to add to the list.

COD's servers have been nothing but a ball-ache from day one but i'm sure a game that is only online and has 256 player slots the first thing they need to get right is the online otherwise they don't have a game they can't sell the game and don't make the money as it is still a long time before this comes out i'm sure they are doing everything they can to get it right

just think if they do get it right what a game it could be

it is still early days yet it might seem that the only thing it has going for it is that it can have up to 256 players at once but that is now as time moves close to the release date i'm sure we will find out their is going to be a lot more to this
