not sure if anyone still plays and is interested but there is a new patch out for this with loads of info so i thought i would copy and paste it here

A laundry list of fixes and features are planned for Killzone 2's 1.24 patch, set to go live on April 22. Included in the patch are fixes for multiple multiplayer exploits and a number of stability issues. The patch arrives just as Japanese gamers are about to welcome Killzone 2 to stores on April 23 and promises to sync files in preparation of the launch.

Guerrilla Games hopes patch 1.24 will make finding and connecting with friends much easier and have spiced up multiplayer competition by including three additional ranks to the top of the rankings -- known as 'Hardcore ranks.' But our favorite addition has to be new load screens that advertise the upcoming DLC, 'Steel and Titanium,' releasing on April 30.




The patch is 57MB large and a full list of fixes and feature updates are below:


AI - Bots now skipping disabled/destroyed MGs in warzone when requesting mounted guns.

AI - Do not claim waypoints for the previous character when it's dead.

AI - Fixes bots getting stuck trying to arm/disarm S&D object when mission is already over.

Campaign - Fix for potential progression bug in Salamun Bridge.

Clan - User name, not users clan displayed in rankings

Clan - Winning 10 Clan Challenges causes the user to become stuck on the medal awards screen.

Controls - Lean & Peak - Zoom hold on and out of ammo it switches between regular/scope view rapidly.

Cosmetic - Blue screen tint which indicates scout cloak is occasionally enabled and will remain indefinitely.

Cosmetic - White squares on the grenade counter merge together when displayed in 1080p

Create Game - "Badge Combination" option does not work properly

Create Game - Online - "clan only" presets apply even after a player leaves a clan

DLC - DLC pack 1 - 'Steel & Titanium' support DLC - New Loading screens advertising the first DLC pack.

Exploit - Helghan Industries - Player getting out of map fix.

Exploit - Radec Academy - User is able to gain access to the roof when revived in a specific location.

Exploit - Reviving player stuck in wall collision can result in him spawning outside level

Exploit - Salamun Market - One sided wall allows people to be seen and shot from outside where they cant see or fire out

Exploit - Tharsis Depot - Player can get out of the "normal" play area and can get into some sniper/camp spots

Feature - Invite player from friendslist Feature - Join Clan Member list added.

Feature - Join Game - 17-24 players filter.

Feature - MP - Moving while seeing scores after pressing SELECT

Feature - The radar/map now has a larger radius

Feature - Three additional 'Harcore' Ranks added to the top limits.

Front-end - Add support to display more than 8 maps when creating a game /challenge/tournament

Front-end - Sorting ascending and decending ranks working better in 'Rankings'

Front-end - When in a squad, the Valor Trophy is visible in the Squad Tab, however the users rank is not being displayed on top of it.

Mods - Official tournament to be displayed first followed by custom created tournaments

Mods - Additional functionality made avalable to the in-game moderators.

Network - Server side fix for full games being displayed incorrectly.

Network - User is unable to use the 'Join Clan Member' tab due to Network Error Code 20002.

Online - File-synching with the Japanese release of Killzone 2 on the 23rd of April.

Sound - Turret placing sound continues when killed.

Stability - Crash when synching gamestate after a full mapcycle

Stability - Hang on a screen with a blank message window just before a message appears.

Stability - Reducing the load on the server related to syncing the buddylist

Stats - If a clan wins 24 Clan Challenges and goes to the result screen, the medal acquisition screen, which normally displays when you win 25 games, will display.

Stats - Number of air-support grenades used by tacticians does not add to the stats of joined user correctly.

Stats - Number of spawn-grenades used by tacticians does not add to the stats of joined user correctly.

Stats - User sometimes does not receive 1000 valor award when winning 10 Clan Challenges.

Text - % character not displayed correctly on the creating game dialogue box after selecting to create game.

Text - If a client receives an invite from a clan which has a '$' character in the clan name, the recipient will get kicked

Text - Minor Italian localization fix.

Text - Minor Japanese localization fix.

Tournament - Game decides winner if one of the two teams doesn't spawn in
Trophies - Fix for Wargod trophy unlocking pre-maturely

Killzone 2 'Flash and Thunder' pack dated June 11

The second map pack for Killzone 2 has just been announced by Sony. The "Flash and Thunder" pack contains two Killzone 1 level remakes, namely Beach Head, in which you're tasked with resisting a Helghast invasion force on a coastal stronghold, and The Southern Hills, in which it's the ISA's turn to invade a Helghast hilltop compound.

Killzone 2 is set to be patched today -- May 28 -- with a collection of updates based on direct feedback from gamers. Version 1.27 will add quite a few new features, with the highlights including a new party system, Skirmish mode tweaks, new control options and overall improvements to the balance of the game.

The party system will allow you to join your friends from within the Join Game menu, as seen below, and factions and squads are now persistent throughout multiple games. The Skirmish mode tweaks include the unlocking of all badges within the mode, allowing everyone to "experience the full range of weapons and abilities available in the Warzone." Also, a new High Precision control method makes the analogue sticks far more sensitive to small movements.


all i can say is if this came out sooner then a lot more people might still be playing it but i might have a look when i get a chance to see if it has made things better

The Killzone 2 patch (SEE ABOVE) which will add a party system, Skirmish Mode tweaks and a new "High Precision" control system, has been delayed, according to a tweet made on the official Guerrilla Games twitter account.

There's no word on when it'll be out, but it won't be this week. In another tweet Guerrilla Games says that it doesn't have an exact date, but it "shouldn't be much longer." Sometime next week then, hopefully.

Another DLC pack for Killzone 2. This time, it's the "Napalm & Cordite" pack, which we'll be hearing much more about next week. In the meantime, Guerilla Games has seen fit to detail the next patch, which will coincide with the new DLC content. Patch 1.28 is the "latest and greatest update" to the game and adds a multitude of new features when it drops on July 14.

These features include, obviously, code support for the new Napalm & Cordite maps, "Suljeva Cliffside" and "Arctower Landing," as well as code which adds the flamethrower and bolt gun to multiplayer. The patch also contains new trophies, more detailed information when browsing games and a bunch of other fixes and updates.

On Tuesday, June July 14th 2009 at 8AM Greenwich Mean Time, Guerrilla Games will release the 10th update for the visceral shooter, Killzone 2.

Patch 1.28 will be 91MB in size (316MB for Asian release) and will be released worldwide simultaneously pending a server update. There will be an anticipated server down-time of about 2 hours while the patch is rolled out and the server updates are completed and tested. The following fixes and features are included in this latest release:

* Feature - Code support for DLC pack III “Napalm & Cordite”. The update will enable players to create games with the newest maps “Suljeva Cliffside” and “Arctower Landing”

* Feature - Code support for DLC to allow the additions of the Flamethrower and the Boltgun to multiplayer.

* Trophies – New trophies added for DLC pack III “Napalm and Cordite”.

* Feature - Detailed information screen when browsing games. Items displayed include: Friendly Fire, Faction Balancing, Custom Weapons and Custom Badges as well as the region, game size, selected maps and allowed Missions and Badges.

* Feature - Higher values for Bodycount mode. Players can now create games with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 100 and 200 points to increase the time of the mode for 32 player games.

* Feature - Moderators can now create double-points events.

* Fix for persistent squads now working correctly when users using separate Japanese accounts join Friends.

* New loading screens.

* Moderation – Additional powers and functionality for online moderators.

* Fix for Clan Leader leaving his clan before an active Tournament of Clan Challenge.

* Fix for score replication on different clients.

* Fix for a Clan Challenge results displaying a won/lost games as a ‘Draw’.

* Fix for incorrect Tournament timings being displayed for (semi)-final.

* Fix for an empty message pop-up being displayed.

* ‘High Precision Mode’ now defaulting when requested.

* Fix for stuttering audio on the Asian version.

* Fix for network error displayed when trying to log in with another users account.

* Fix to reduce network traffic and improve performance.

* Fix for occasionally being displayed an empty background when ‘Join Friend’ via Communications tab.

* Exploit – Pyrrhus Rise map boundary fix.

* Exploit – Radec Academy collision fix to prevent players being revived inside a pillar and using it to their advantage.

* Cosmetic fix for Medic Gun visual effects.

* Cosmetic fix for Search & Retrieve object being cloaked by the Scout.

* Cosmetic fix for Scouts body remaining cloaked after being mortally wounded (i.e. headshot).

* Gameplay – Damage from Sentry bots tweaked back on request of the community.

* Collection of minor code fixes.

The first rumblings of Killzone 2's next DLC pack, Napalm & Cordite, came over the wire last week. Now we have a date -- and details. Hitting on July 23 (that's next Thursday!) the expansion includes two new maps: "Suljeva Cliffside" and "Arctower Landing." Both are rooted in locations from the single-player campaign; the former taking place near the Suljeva mining village, the latter in the urban hotzone of Blood Meridian.

The pack's release will also usher in the ability to use two more of the campaign mode's weapons in multiplayer -- but only on the new maps. The VC1 Flamethrower will appear for use on Suljeva Cliffside, while Arctower Landing will offer the opportunity to say "I love you" to your enemies using the Boltgun 4400.
